Dupage / West Cook
The DuPage West Cook Regional Special Education Association (DWC) is an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement created to provide low incidence special education programs and services to students in the identified catchment area.
SASED is the operating and fiscal agent for DWC. SASED provides a Coordinator for all DWC operations and classroom programming for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Pre-k to 8th grade) and for students who are Blind or Visually Impaired (Pre-k through Transition). SASED also provides Audiology and specialized diagnostic services for members of the DWC intergovernmental agreement. The LaGrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE) provides programming for High School and Transition aged students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
DWC is organized under a Board which consists of Superintendents or State Approved Directors of Special Education. Board membership is made up of one representative (and an alternate) from each cooperative in DuPage and West Cook Counties and several independent school districts. If a school district within the catchment area has an enrollment of at least 5,000 it is eligible to appoint its own representative and alternate to the Board.
