SASED Welcomes New Executive Director

Image of new executive directorDr. Kim Dryier is a veteran special education administrator and a passionate advocate for students with special needs. She has dedicated her career to serving the needs of students with an emphasis on providing rigorous expectations and academic support for all students, treating everyone with dignity, and developing essential life and work skills.

Dr. Dryier is an accomplished educational leader, most recently working in Consolidated High School District 230 for the past 13 years as the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Student Services. Kim previously served as the Directors of Special Education for both Community High School District 99 in Downers Grove and Indian Springs School District 109. She began her career as the Coordinator of Diagnostic Services, Placement Coordinator, and School Psychologist with the Lincoln-Way Area Special Education Cooperative. 

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from St. Joseph’s College, a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology with a school psychology concentration from Governors State University, and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Loyola University. Through her involvement with several state and national organizations, Dr. Dryier has facilitated workshops and delivered impactful presentations at state-wide and national conferences.

Dr. Dryier lives in Naperville with her husband where they enjoy all DuPage County has to offer, including dining, music, and entertainment.
